NSA Agent Augustus Gibbons, fresh off the success of his last renegade recruitment, once again finds himself in need of an outsider. Gibbons and his new agent must track a dangerous military splinter group, led by General George Deckert, that is conspiring to overthrow the U.S. Government in the nation's capital.
The first XXX was a pretty good guy flick. Lots of big explosions, cool high tech gadgets, great big handguns with laser sights, pretty girls, a REAL evil bad guy terrorist who wants to kill a bunch of innocents with a biological agent. Big bad guy plot by Vodka swilling Slavic types that are real easy to hate. OUTSTANDING relatively original '67 Goat with missiles in the grill no less! You pay to see a good guy flick, XXX One is worth the money and you don't have to think a lot about it, it's just fun.<br/><br/>XXX State of the Union, is much, MUCH bigger. Bigger guns, bigger explosions, bigger egos, bigger belly on the lead actor, bigger peripheral vehicles most of which are HIGHLY modified SUVs and, sadly, big old ugly dubs on what is otherwise a tight redux of the '67 Goat, and this one has a wild ass $10,000 flip-flop paint job. If you watched the trailer and thought this would be just like the first one, though, you must have been quite disgusted to find out it was merely a very glossy piece of LEFT WING PROPAGANDA, which clearly is NOT what I paid for.<br/><br/>ALL the bad guys are former military special ops guys and Decker, the Secretary of Defense (read Don Rumsfeld), is portrayeda power mad psychopath hell bent on wresting control of the White House from the wimpy ass liberal lunatic President. A perfectly coiffed talking head, he informs us in the first scene that the US would be adopting a new policy when dealing with terrorists, like the ones who just killed 16 NSA agents in a bomb attack. His strategy is to invite them all to meet us at Starbucks for a nice latte and some pleasant conversation designed to "turn some of these enemies of ours into allies" through intense diplomacy and holding hands while singing Kum Ba Yah.<br/><br/>ALL the GOOD guys are street thugs who steal cars for a living and, in fact, this criminal activity is GLORIFIED"the American way" in several scenes. Also on the crap list are police, which are "not to be trusted", anyone who has a conservative viewpoint about the military and the war on terror, and anyone, except the limp wristed liberal idiot who is supposed to be the President, who works for the government. In addition, while Sam Jackson maintained extremely tight control over Vin Diesel (at least he wants Zander to THINK he does), Ice Cube is allowed to simply walk in and take complete control of the whole operation. In fact, Cube asks for everything INCLUDING the keys to the castle in the first few scenes and Sam Jackson caves without the slightest of objections. Wonder why that is? <br/><br/>Now, to be sure, Decker, the antagonist, IS A DERANGED PSYCHOPATH and a very bad man who must be stopped because the coup he has planned could easily throw the country into total chaos. That said, the entire movie is little more than a thinly veiled attempt to vilify the current President's conservative agenda, our military and the President's foreign policy.<br/><br/>I really HATE paying for a good guy flick and then being presented with a slick piece of left wing propaganda. How incredibly desperate to regain power the liberals must be to constantly enlist the help of Hollywood and its insane crop of left wing malcontents who, without the benefit of sound reasoning and core logic continue to fragment and decompose right before our very eyes. They should all be ashamed at passing this politically tainted drivel offentertainment.
this film is totally s**t not just the first 40 minutes but the whole thing ice cube is a good actor and i like him in the Friday series and other films he has done but he is crap in this and they should not have gotten ridden of Vin diesel who would of thought it a African American xxx. i have to say though there was one good part in the film that i like and that is the credits i mean who can dodge a rocket launcher from twenty feet away in a tank the film proper slipped out reality and into the xander zone.you know the story Samuel Jackson hires some guy that is a master in everything and can stay alive even when the whole country is after him.
